Goals of the Brain Network LaboratoryThe Brain Network Laboratory was established to study the network architecture of the brain. Using techniques of functional MRI connectivity (fcMRI), magnetoencephalography (MEG), electrocorticography (ECOG), and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), we are seeking to understand the networks in the brain that process attention, thought, memory, vision, and language. How do these networks accomplish high level brain functions? How do networks communicate and interact? How do brain networks malfunction in diseases such as autism, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia? How can our understanding of the network dynamics in the brain change our ability to understand ourselves, our transcendent experiences, and our ability to function in a complex social world?
